From October 10 to 15, Mexico City, 2018’s World Design City, hosts Mexico Design Week.
Slamp has partnered up with Architect Rodrigo Fernández Barajas’ Maison Diez Company to transform a 1900’s residence into a temporary showroom. The residence is located in Mexico City’s charming Colonia Roma neighborhood, where Maison Diez Company has installed a selection of Slamp’s iconic collections, from Lorenza Bozzoli’s 50’s inspired La Lollo to Zaha Hadid’s collections. Hadid’s collections for Slamp will be part of MUAC’s (Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo, Mexico City) retrospective dedicated to the late architect, running October 20 to March 3, 2019.
“For me, the collaboration with Slamp is enriching as they provide us with a completely different category of product. Their products are unexpected and defying. Their participation at Maison Diez Company will enrich the house and will give an opportunity to the visitors to understand Slamp and the materials used.”
Architect Fernandez
The collaboration with Diez Company extends to Hadid’s MUAC retrospective, where a cluster of 10 Avia and Aria chandeliers in varying finishes, including the latest capsule collection Avia Edition (99 numbered pieces per finish), are installed.
